A sale label does not automatically mean the price is unusually low. The safest comparison starts with the exact product, its recent price range and the complete amount you will pay.
1. Match the exact product
Check the model number, size, color, condition and included accessories before comparing prices. A similar-looking item may not be the same version.
2. Look for a normal price range
Compare the current price with prices from other established sellers and, when possible, with prices you have previously noted for the same product.
3. Ignore the percentage until the price makes sense
A large percentage discount can look impressive even when the starting price is unusually high. Focus first on the actual selling price.
4. Calculate the checkout total
Add shipping, required fees and any minimum-spend conditions. The best-looking sale can become the more expensive option at checkout.
5. Check whether the timing works for you
A lower price is not useful if the delivery date, return policy or product condition does not meet your needs.
Quick checklist
- Compare the same product version.
- Use the final checkout total as your main number.
- Do not buy only because a sale timer creates urgency.
